This year, I resolve not to eat any of my victims.

One year.

Like a single drop of water in the ocean.

I wasn't cursed yesterday, to make a list of goals for next year. If I had been, honestly, I'm not sure what I would have set-- I can't think of anything any other than the goals I already had, the things I've been trying to do all along, since I got here. I want to keep acting and holding plays. I want to find ways to be happy even if I don't think I deserve it. I want to keep learning new things and reading new poems and making the most of the time I have here.

Carpe diem.

But that isn't anything new.

This was the best Christmas I've ever had, because of all of you, and I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did.

I know the new year probably won't be much different from this one-- there'll still be bad times and curses and sometimes we'll hate it here. But I'm looking forward to it. I'm going to have a good year.

I've got everything I need to be happy.

And then maybe I'll go home and have a really really hot bath and soak there and watch the stars and the blue moon. It's nice having a clear ceiling, because that means that really all night I can watch them wherever I am.

If I am to make a resolution this new year, it's to find out who sent me an eye just after Christmas.

Yes, an eye--a human eye, boxed up, and sent to me, and left at the back kitchen door of the opera house.

No, I did not find it amusing at all to find a box at the back kitchen door of the opera house addressed to me. Nothing good has ever been delivered at that door. That was where that boy, the doctor's assistant, left flowers for my sister, first. And now I've received a gift that might as well have been sent by that mad doctor himself.

I have received an eye, boxed up, and sent as a package, almost as a Christmas gift. Perhaps I shouldn't be so surprised by it, and yet I keep staring at it almost in disbelief. Things had been relatively peaceful in the City until now. And suddenly there are body parts being delivered in the snow.

I know I'm not the only one to receive some body parts by post. I've seen a few notes on the Network to that effect. There's a pattern to be seen here, but I don't know enough yet. It will prove to be a message of some kind, or bear some meaning in it.

You know, He-Who-Kills was rather disappointed that he didn't receive such a gift this Christmas. I'm rather inclined to give to him the gift I received. The police force, if there is such a thing in the City anymore, will probably protest, but I don't know what they can gather from such remains. He-Who-Kills would appreciate it more, I think. Besides, I've studied this eye well enough on my own. It's simply a human eye, cut from its socket, with some of the connecting nerves and blood vessels still attached to the back. There are no marks on it, nor peculiar signs. It is an eye removed whole from its proper place in the skull.

If one is really looking for some kind of pattern of connection, one might look at all of us who received these 'gifts' to see what might link us together. Beyond that, there are enough madmen and murderers in the City that we may have been chosen at random. The question, of course, is whether there was one victim or more than one victim. We may have each been mailed a piece from one body or we may have each been mailed a piece from different bodies. There will be a pattern in these 'gifts', if one can find it. It's only a matter of untangling all the knots of it.

I received an eye, and I seem to recall seeing mention of a liver. What other parts were there? We might be able to reassemble the victim entirely if we've been sent around enough pieces. The pieces themselves may be significant too. There's meaning enough to me in seeing an eye pried from its owner's head--

Whoever the victim is, he or she is yet a victim of a murder. And, as I said, I do mean to resolve to find out who sent me the eye of this victim and why he sent it to me.

And, yes, for those who were wondering, I've seen eyes pried from skulls before. Although the ones I saw before were preserved in a jar as specimens, as part of a 'study'. I believe they were removed while their owner was yet living. It was not a pleasant affair.

And mine were very nearly added to the collection once.

Perhaps, with that in mind, you understand my intention in finding out exactly why I was sent such a thing, who sent it, and what it might mean. And I do mean to find these things out. As I said, it's my new year's resolution.

Everyone was speaking of resolutions. I suppose I wish you luck in going through with them. I don't have any resolutions in particular, just want to better myself overall.

I also hope the New Year brings good things for us all. This year we had many losses, but of course there were also several good things, too, even if the bad seems to overpower them. The good is there, I promise.

About one month, the Year of the Ox draws to a close, and we welcome the Tiger. That sure is something.

So anyone who doesn't follow Minene's threads, Minene hates God. Or any god-like being, in this case our lovely deities. She hates them enough she's going to give the City a new year's celebration!

At midnight tomorrow night (city time, NEW YEAR'S HURRAH), there will be a series of explosions. The first one will start near the deity's office while another six explosions will happen around the perimeter of the City on the beach areas. They'll all be manually set off so there's no real way to time them.

The catch is! Only the bomb near the office will be a real explosion! The others will all be turned into fabulous fireworks display thanks to city ~*magic*~ and thus thwarting Minene's plans.

So just a head's up for all that lovely new year's magic! Characters are welcome to notice, comment about, investigate, what have you. Happy new year's, Poly \o/

Holiday hiatus.

I've been dying, feeling blah, etc. So in order to try to get back that pep I seem to have lost in my life, I'm taking a mini-hiatus. I'm going to be gone starting tomorrow evening until likely Wednesday-ish. I will backdate/ finish tagging those I may have tagged in the past few days that are still ongoing. Otherwise I'll be pretty MIA.

So... some of you probably saw this coming a mile away. I kept getting all sentimental and putting this off, but as Jane very helpfully reminded me, it's like a ripping off a band-aid. :(

First off, I just want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to everybody, past and present, who have made my two and half years with Ichigo such an awesome time. Thanks to my wonderful, amazing castmates who have helped him grow and change and become something a lot more dear to me than I ever could have expected, and thanks to everyone else who put up with his bullshit to build such incredible CR. I've had moments of just pure, unadulterated joy playing him, and I couldn't have done it without any of you.

Hi all, it's Dess aka Blair-mun aka THE WORST MUN EVER.

My hiatus was extended indefinitely and I didn't even tell anyone that I'd be away for so long! I'm very sorry about that, and I hope no one was left hung up on anything planned with Blair. If you are, then I apologize!

I've been busy doing college applications, spending time with family and traveling all over Southeast Asia. There's one more college essay to go, but after that I should be back~ plus I probably should catch up on the newer GG episodes sigh. I've missed so much!

So, this isn't a notice that I'm back, yet, but just to let you know that I'm alive and kicking. Also, about Blair, please assume that she is gone from the City, if you haven't already. I'm thinking of updating and resetting her when she gets back --but don't worry Chuck, she still owns you ♥

We finally decided, like I mentioned up there, that we're ready to start, well... interviewing, I guess, for other roommates. If anyone needs a place to stay - boy, girl, it - it doesn't matter. Just let us know. It's a really nice apartment, pretty spacious, too, so even if you ended up hating us, you could just disappear into a bedroom or something. The only problem is that boys used to live here, and I'm really not sure if the smell ever came out.

ALSO LIKE COLETTE, he's got a bit of a messiah complex as well, and he's... more than a little dumb sometimes, but that's okay! He also has two daddies, one of which is a dwarf, and the other of which is a 4000 year old angel. He also uses two swords because he really does seem to believe that two swords means twice the power.

She's from directly after the first game, when she and Lloyd set off on their journey to collect and dispose of Exspheres. She's a sweet little angel (yes, with real wings...that look like fairy wings) with a messiah complex, but a little...dumb. Also she trips and falls. Over. Everything. And she gets kidnapped like five times in the course of the game, thus the username.

Bombastic intro aside, hello to everyone here at Polychromatic! I'm just a total n00b to this place, and I bring my first character -- Shing Meteoryte from Tales of Hearts! He's a total idealist, oozes happiness and optimism and tends to jump into things without really thinking. So your basic Tales idiot hero, for the most part. He will fight if he has to, though. And we don't want that. Right? RIGHT?

This Year's Resolutions
1. I resolve to stop tormenting Blue with puns. Well, at least some of the time.
2. I resolve to continue to be better at Sam at Mario Kart.
3. I resolve to listen carefully to my friends when they give me good advice, because I usually need it when they offer it, whether or not I realize it at the time.
4. I resolve to be more modern in some things, and to stay properly old-fashioned in others.
5. I resolve to trust the people who want to protect me, without immediately insisting that I don't need it.
6. I resolve to find ways to protect myself, so I can occasionally insist that I don't need it.
7. I resolve to be truthful. Especially to myself.
8. I resolve to learn how to drive the car, at least enough to get someone to the hospital if there's another emergency.
9. I resolve to stop worrying about love. Well, at least some of the time.
10. I resolve to make my father proud of me.

Well, last year I made ten resolutions and I ended up keeping all but one of them, so with any luck, this year will be the same. I think those are fine resolutions to have, though, aren't they? Even if some are considerably easier than others to keep.

Still, the point of resolutions is to give us something to think about and to strive for, so it only makes sense that some ought to be more difficult than others. There wouldn't be any point if they were all easy, would there? And if they were all impossibly difficult, one might get discouraged and never complete any at all, and then there'd be no point to that, either. So I think these are just fine, the way they are.

There's still a day and a half left, though. I might still--no. No, I think not. It'll just have to wait. And that's all right, too, isn't it?

Now then, other than setting resolutions, how does everyone plan to celebrate the coming of the new year?
